After attending De Smet High School in St. Louis, David Corwin graduated in 1985 from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with a BA in history. He then attended St. Louis University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1988. While at St. Louis University, he was named to the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society. While also at SLU, he served as an intern for the Honorable Clyde Cahill, United States Federal District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. Graduating at the top of his class, David went to work for Thompson Mitchell, later known as Thompson Cobum, LLP, the largest law firm in Missouri. David became a partner with Thompson Coburn, LLP in 1997. While an attorney at Thompson Cobum, LLP, David Corwin practiced extensively in the areas of general commercial litigation, personal injury litigation, products liability, admiralty, patent and trademark litigation. Over the years, David Corwin has recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars for his clients. In December, 2000 David associated with the Law Offices of Gretchen Myers, PC a preeminent plaintiffs personal injury firm. At LOGM his work was concentrated in the areas of plaintiffs personal injury, trucking, worker's compensation and medical malpractice. He also successfully started a plaintiffs commercial litigation practice. In September, 2004 David joined Devereux Murphy LLC, as a member. At Devereux Murphy, David continues to handle a wide variety of commercial and personal injury cases. David has tried or co tried dozens of jury trials. Since graduating law school, David has been very active in the community. For a number of years he served as an intake attorney for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. He is an active member in Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, having served as an officer in the Home and School Association and as President of the Board of Education. For the last six years, David has served as Operations Co Chair for the Scramble for Kids charity golf tournament which annually raises over One Hundred Thousand Dollars to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. In 1999, David was appointed to the Missouri Technology Corporation (http://missouritechnology.com/), by the late Governor Mel Carnahan. David has written numerous articles and spoken to lawyers and non lawyers alike regarding the law and trial practice. David is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. David is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.
